Online Counselling
Secure, professional therapy from the comfort of your own space.
Online counselling offers a flexible and accessible way to begin therapy, especially if attending in person isn’t possible or comfortable for you right now.
How Online Counselling Works
Online sessions take place through a secure video platform. You’ll receive a link before each session, and all you need to do is click to join. The process is simple, private, and designed to feel as close as possible to being in the room together.
During sessions, we talk just as we would in person — exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
Online therapy offers:
- • A warm, confidential space
- • The same therapeutic support as in‑person sessions
- • Flexibility around location and scheduling
- • A sense of comfort and familiarity in your own environment
Is Online Counselling Effective?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in‑person work for many people. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship — feeling safe, understood, and supported.
Many clients find online sessions particularly helpful if they:
- • Feel more comfortable opening up from home
- • Have anxiety about travelling or new environments
- • Have childcare, work, or mobility commitments
What You Need for Online Sessions
You don’t need any special equipment. I’ll guide you through the setup so you feel confident and ready before we begin.
Space
A private, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted.
Connection
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or data).
Device
A phone, tablet, or computer with a working camera.
Audio
Headphones are optional but often helpful for extra privacy.
Online EMDR
EMDR can also be offered online using safe, effective methods for bilateral stimulation. Many clients find online EMDR just as powerful as in‑person work, and sometimes even more comfortable because they’re in a familiar environment.
If EMDR is something you’re considering, we can discuss whether online or in‑person sessions would suit you best during your initial consultation.
A typical online session includes:
- • Checking in with how you’re feeling
- • Exploring thoughts, emotions, or patterns
- • Developing grounding or regulation skills
- • Reflecting on insights or shifts in safety
